Patagonia has been making top of the line fly fishing and outdoor apparel for decades and their line of fly fishing waders is one of the most respected in the industry. Their founder Yvon Chouinard is a dedicated angler and is committed to producing only the best fly fishing gear. Patagonia’s waders carry the company’s rock solid warranty and are built with the latest technology for complete on the water performance.  Several different styles of waders cover a range of fly fishing needs.

Patagonia Gunnison Gorge Wading Pants

A lot of anglers have discovered the advantages of wading pants over chest high waders. In most fly fishing situations, wading pants cover 90% of an anglers needs. They are less bulky and more comfortable when hiking or rowing a boat. The Patagonia Gunnison Gorge Wading Pants, with H2No waterproofing and breathability, are great for hot summer days but I use them year-round even in the coldest weather. Articulated knees enhance mobility for aggressive hiking and wading. Single seam construction and exterior reinforcement tape add durability and abrasion-resistance. Left and right specific neoprene booties keep your feet cushioned and warm. A stretch waistband and an adjustable buckle wading belt make for a comfortable pants-like fit.  Finally the internal waterproof, TPU welded pocket protects your phone or camera.

Patagonia Rio Azul Chest Waders

The Rio Azul Waders from Patagonia are lightweight and compressible, making them an ideal traveling companion for your next fly fishing trip. Made with  H2No waterproof fabric, these fly fishing waders are breathable and feature asymmetrical neoprene booties to maximize comfort. Adjustable suspenders keep the Rio Azul Men’s Waders in place while a stretch wading belt provides added support. A single waterproof pocket lets you carry electronics safely while a utility keeper holds essential tools close at hand. The Rio Azul Waders are Patagonia’s most compact wader but they hold up to abusive wear and tear.

Patagonia Rio Gallegos and Rio Gallegos Zip Front Waders

Updated material makes the Patagonia Rio Gallegos Waders even tougher, while maintaining their lightweight, comfortable feel. These are Patagonia’s top-of-the-line fly fishing waders. Thanks to Patagonia’s sliding suspension system, fly fishermen can convert the Rio Gallegos Waders to waist-high wading pants with ease. Four-ply H2No waterproof, breathable fabric in the legs is now more durable and abrasion-resistant than ever, so you can hike through rough country and wade rocky rivers. Two chest-high water-resistant zip pockets hold small accessories, and a welded interior TPU waterproof pocket stashes your phone or money. Merino wool insulation in the neoprene stocking feet gives the Rio Gallegos Waders by Patagonia the insulation of 5mm neoprene with a thickness of just 3mm. So you can stay warm without the added weight. These are the waders anglers choose for extended trips into the Alaskan wilderness, for steelheading West Coast Rivers or casting to stripers in big surf on a chilly beach in the North East.

For anglers who want the added convenience of zipper access and on-off capabilities, the Rio Gallegos Zip-Front Waders feature a watertight front zipper from the crotch to the chest.

All Patagonia waders come with a field repair kit and a lifetime warranty. Check out Vail Valley Anglers full line of Patagonia products.
