Salmon Fly Hatch on the Upper Colorado

Salmon Fly Hatch on the Upper Colorado

The Ringer

There were some biologists on the upper Colorado a few days ago collecting Salmon Flies for a research project.  Check out this video that features our friends at Cutthroat Anglers in conjunction with the Colorado Division of Wildlife.  Every year we hope for a decent fishing window to be able to fish this hatch.  The water does not have to be gin clear, in fact it seems to fish better when things are a little off color.  This is an amazing hatch given that it didnt really exist below Gore Canyon 15 years ago!  Give us a call if you are interested in floating the upper sections of the Colorado River.
