The Simms G3 Guide Pants are designed to protect the angler’s lower half without the often
superfluous coverage that traditional chest waders supply. There are two reasons that many fly
fishermen find chest waders unnecessary.
First off, most of the rivers and streams here in the Rocky Mountains are steep and rocky with fast
flowing currents that do not allow fly fishermen the opportunity to wade in deep water. That being said, the need for chest high waders is rare, and all of the expensive Gore-Tex material above the waist never even gets used.
Secondly, even though the weather throughout much of Colorado’s fly fishing season is warm and
sunny, the water in our local rivers remains too cold to wade in without some waterproof protection.
For times when your feet and legs need to be warm and dry, but chest waders seem like overkill, look
no further than the new Simms G3 Guide Waders. These comfortable, convenient waist high waders
are loaded with features specially designed to accommodate every fly fisherman from the traveling
angler to the full time guide.
Five Layer Gore-Tex Construction
The Simms G3 Guide Pants are made with five layer Gore-Tex Pro Shell fabric. Pro Shell is Gore’s
most durable and most breathable product. It is made up of three fabric layers and two Gore-Tex
membrane layers, with the Gore-Tex membranes sandwiched between the fabrics. The outer layer
is coated with a long lasting durable water repellant that keeps the fabric totally dry even while
submerged. The five layers move and flex together, which allows the waders to last longer.
The streamlined look and feel of the Simms G3 Guide Pants does not mean that they are not loaded
with features. They come with a water resistant right hand front pocket for keys, fishing license, and
cell phone. The waterproof YKK fly gives fishermen the freedom to respond quickly when nature calls.
Most chest waders turn a trip to the bushes into an inconvenient chore. The integrated belt loops hold a two inch elastic wading belt with a trout logo buckle securely in place. Not only does the wading belt hold the pants up all day long, it is an important safety feature should the angler wade too deep or fall in. The G3 Guide Pants come in fourteen different sizes to accommodate every fly fishermen, so make sure to try the on in the fly shop before making the purchase.
Every season and type of weather comes with its own unique demands, and for much of the year,
western fly fishermen need more than adequate protection and comfort below the waist, and freedom and breathability above the waist. With the new G3 Guide Pants, your old chest waders may become obsolete. As with all of the waders made by Simms, the G3 Guide pants are made in Bozeman, MT and protected by Simm’s Workmanship Guarantee.
