Snow Pack in the Colorado River Basin

Snow Pack in the Colorado River Basin

The Ringer

Well,  another summer is just around the corner and we are all waking up almost daily to more snow.  The last week we received 57 inches and Vail Ski Mountain re-opened.  No that says something about how much snow we have gotten recently.  It looks like the Colorado River Basin will be in decent shape this season.  We will get a float fishing season on the Eagle and we are ready to go.  Rain will be the big factor again this summer as we are in better shape but we are not out of the woods.  As you see in the graph we just crossed the year 2010 on our way to average which is great.  As we prepare for another fly fishing season keep the conditions in mind and if things get low and warm consider giving the fish in the bigger rivers a break and head for the high country or drive to a tail-water.  Remember that FISH = FUN.  No fish no fun! Take care of them!
