The more time you spend learning the basics, the more prepared you will be for the next step when it comes along. It is important for beginner fly fishermen to establish solid fundamental skills and knowledge, and that is exactly what you get during the Fly Fishing 101 class. What is Covered? When you first start to fly fish, you will notice that every aspect of the sport comes with unique challenges. Everything is hard in the beginning, and it is impossible to practice without first knowing the right way to do things. For example, if you don’t know how to tie the basic knots the right way, you simply cannot fish without a guide. Without knowing what certain terms and angling specific phrases really mean, you will struggle to learn more about it on your own later. This is why your professional instructor/guide will usually divide the class into three sections including knot tying, casting, and finally some basic angling terminology.
