Tibor Signature Series Fly Reel review

*Please note this product may not be unavailable to purchase on our website no longer*
When an angler picks up a Tibor, it is obvious that this is a piece of finely tuned fly fishing equipment built to handle tough fish, from tarpon to trout. The Tibor Signature Reels are built to last. While they may be on the heavy side in comparison, the weight difference to many of today’s ultralight fly reels is not all that much.  Line retrieval is smooth and fast but perhaps not quite as fast a some larger diameter large arbor reels.

With a sturdy machined aluminum frame, this a reel that can take some abuse and keep performing flawlessy. Each reel is signed by Master reel designer and fly fisherman Ted “Tibor” Juracsik.  The overall design of the Tibor Signature Series is based on beautifully rugged construction and very few parts. The waterproof, sealed cork drag is a proven design that features stength and a smooth feel. The Signature features a completely ventilated spool and frame that keeps the reel cool during long, smoking runs and provides a robust incoming and outgoing clicker sound. Backing capacity is more than adequate for even the strongest gamefish. Maintenance is minimal and simple.

Available in four sizes from 5-6 to 11-12 there is a reel available for whichever fly fishing adventure you choose. The reels come with a right-hand retrieve but conversion to left hand retrieve is very simple. Spool removal is also a snap. Tibor Signature Series delivers the same tough standards that have earned Tibor over 800 world records – more than any other fly reel in the world.
